Jerry Seinfeld is returning to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre next year for the first time in over a decade, news which extends a recent string of event announcements for the Blanshard Street venue.

Seinfeld, 70, will appear here April 26, his first Vancouver Island appearance since his 2013 debut at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. The news Friday is the latest in a long line of recent announcements for the arena, including upcoming events the 90s Dance Mix Tour (Jan. 19), Jelly Roll (March 6), Theo Von (March 16), The Beach Boys (March 22), Jordan Peterson (March 31), and Bachman-Turner Overdrive (April 10.)

Seinfeld is perhaps the biggest of the bunch. The Brooklyn-born TV and film star has been doing stand-up since 1981, when he made his debut on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and has gone on to become one of the most successful comedians of all-time.

His eponymous series, Seinfeld, which he co-created and wrote with Larry David, ran from 1989 until 1998 and is considered one of the best sitcoms in television history, netting Seinfeld a total of 13 Emmy Award nominations. His most recent starring vehicle is the Emmy-nominated comedy Unfrosted, which he directed, co-wrote, and produced.

Tickets to his upcoming Victoria performance start at $79.50 and go on sale Friday, Dec 6 at 10 a.m. through the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre box office (250-220-7777) and selectyourtickets.com.
