Nashville country star Kip Moore is coming back to Vancouver Island for a trio of dates that will serve as a thank you for the raucous reception he received at Lake Cowichan’s Sunfest country music festival this month.

Moore, 39, closed out Sunfest on Aug. 4 before 10,000 fans. The Somethin’ ’Bout a Truck and Beer Money hitmaker will perform three dates on Vancouver Island as part of his upcoming solo acoustic tour, including stops at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre (Oct. 31), the Royal Theatre (Nov. 1), and the Port Theatre in Nanaimo (Nov. 2).

“We are going to come to you this time,” Moore said Tuesday in an Instagram video specifically made for his Vancouver Island fans. “We’re bringing the acoustic tour to you guys, not Vancouver. These shows are for you guys. I wanted to say thanks, because Sunfest was amazing.”

Tickets for his Victoria debut go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. They are available for $58.25 from rmts.bc.ca, by phone at 250-386-6121, or in person at the Royal McPherson box office.

Victoria-raised, Nashville-based singer Emily Reid will be the opening act.
