Corey Hart, one of the biggest heartthrobs of the 1980s, will make a summer stop in Victoria at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.

The Never Surrender Tour, named after Hart’s 1985 hit single, will touch down at the Blanshard Street arena on June 24. The 16-date trek will be the Montreal native’s first extensive cross-Canada tour since 1986, and will feature a mix of classic hits and material from his forthcoming new release, Dreaming Time Again.

Hart, now 56, became a worldwide star by the age of 22, thanks in part to his signature song, Sunglasses at Night. He was among the biggest acts in Canada throughout the 1980s, with Sunglasses at Night and several other singles (Never Surrender, It Ain’t Enough and Can’t Help Falling in Love) reaching the Top 20 on the U.S. charts.

Hart has sold 16 million albums during his career, but has been largely silent since his unofficial retirement in 2014. He has not played a concert in Victoria in more than 30 years.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Dec. 7 through selectyourtickets.com. They are also available for $52.50, $72.50, and $102.50 (plus service charges) through the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre box office (1925 Blanshard St.) or by phone at 250-220-7777. Exclusive pre-sale tickets are available through Hart’s Facebook page.

Each ticket purchased comes with a digital copy of Hart’s new recording.
