Avril Lavigne will return to Victoria for the first time in more than a decade next year when the singer’s cross-country tour stops May 25 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.

Lavigne, 37, will play the Blanshard Street arena with opening acts Grandson and Mod Sun in tow. The tour, which ends in Victoria, is in support of Bite Me, the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album. Lavigne is one of the best-selling Canadian artists of all-time, with more than 40 million records sold.

Tickets go on sale Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. throughlivenation.com and selectyourtickets.com. They are priced from $40 to $100.50, with an exclusive Bite Me ticket/merchandise combo running $293.50.

One dollar from each ticket sold will benefit the Avril Lavigne Foundation, which supports people with serious illness or disabilities.
