Reach Child and Youth Development Society is launching Reach for Beauty: Art Auction for Autism today, Sunday, July 26.
The generosity of local artists makes this on-line silent auction to support children possible.
Beginning Sunday, the public can visit www.reachforbeauty.ca to bid on works of art in many mediums including original paintings, prints, pottery, photography, metal and stone with all proceeds benefiting children with developmental challenges at Reach Society.
Local artists Gary Nay, Michael Abraham, Yorke Graham, South Delta Artists Guild (SDAG) and many more are participating in this community effort.
Reach for Beauty: Art Auction for Autism will run until Aug. 10 and supporters can browse on-line at any time of day.
SDAG members Rod Winning and Jan Strehler dropped off a large number of paintings recently from fellow artists at the guild including several of their own.
The SDAG has been a long-term supporter of Reach for the Stars Galas and Reach events committee member Linda Edwards contacted SDAG to procure paintings for this new venture.
Reach development manager Kristin Bibbs explains the reason for launching the Reach for Beauty virtual auction: “Due to current restrictions on physical events, we have had to come up with new and creative ways to continue to fundraise. Our virtual art auction is a perfect avenue as it allows people to view and purchase inspired creations from the safety of their home while simultaneously supporting Reach. The generosity of the participating artists has been truly extraordinary and we are excited to showcase their incredible talents.”
Reach Child and Youth Development Society is a non-profit charitable society that has been providing services to children and their families since 1959.
Reach currently provides programs and services to families in Delta, Surrey and Langley B.C. Over 1000 children and their families benefit from our services on an annual basis.
