If you’ve ever found yourself hankering for dim sum while on the Canada Line, a new TransLink initiative just might help you curb that craving next time.

In partnership with WestCoastFood, TransLink has created a series of restaurant and brewery tours in neighbourhoods along its SkyTrain systems.

The campaign, Dine the Line, provides maps and videos aimed to encourage tourists to take transit while exploring Metro Vancouver.

“We want people to get out there and experience Metro Vancouver’s unique dining and brewpub neighbourhoods and we want people to use transit to get there,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond in a press release.

“Transit connects our communities in so many ways and we want transit to be the way that residents and tourists discover culinary hubs throughout our great city.”

One of those tours, “Dim Sum to Dinner via Canada Line” highlights multiple Richmond restaurants, including Richmond Public Market, Chef Tony, Copa Café and 75 West Coast Grill.

The tour also takes transit riders into Vancouver, to try some restaurants in Yaletown and across the SeaBus into North Vancouver.

Other tours include a “Breweries and Bites via Millennium Line tour,” seen here:

As well as a “World Cuisine via Expo Line tour,” seen here:

Full details of the culinary experiences including maps and walking distances between stations and restaurants can be seen on the Dine the Line website.
