The Editor,

I agree with letter writer Greg Tjosvold. The animals and birds we view at Lafarge Lake, an oasis of sanity, need their place and space or we’ll no longer be seeing them. They prefer to observe us from afar and people don’t need access to every foot of shoreline.
Keep the island at the north end of Lafarge Lake so it has a protective moat that keeps the birds feeling welcomed and relaxed, and so their presence can be enjoyed by us all.
