Harvie’s State of the City address highlights chamber AGM

Mayor George Harvie presented his first State of the City address since being elected last fall as the Delta Chamber of Commerce held its 109 th annual general meeting at the Beach Grove Golf Club Tuesday.

Mayor George Harvie presented his first State of the City address since being elected last fall as the Delta Chamber of Commerce held its 109th annual general meeting at the Beach Grove Golf Club Tuesday.

Harvie spoke about his first 90 days in office and what Delta council has already accomplished, including new recreation projects and a new council committee structure. He also outlined his plans for the next few years, including enhanced recreation, road and infrastructure improvements, a housing action plan and continued lobbying of both provincial and federal governments for changes to the George Massey Tunnel and increased transit options.

Harvie swore in the 2019/20 chamber board of directors.
