Still deciding who to vote for in the 2019 federal election?
The Massey Victory Heights Residents’ Association is hosting the final all-candidates gathering of the 2019 election campaign in New Westminster-Burnaby Thursday, Oct. 17 (tonight). The round-table discussion/meet-and-greet runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, located at the corner of 10th Avenue and Cumberland Street.
The first hour features a chance for community members to mingle and chat with candidates. Pizza from Gino’s Restaurant will be provided – so no need to make dinner.
The actual meeting, which will take place from 7 to 8 p.m., is a roundtable discussion where candidates will be interspersed among residents at tables. Akin to sitting at the kitchen table and have a free-flowing discussion about politics with family and friends, the event givesresidents a chance to ask any question they wish.
All eight New Westminster-Burnaby candidates have told organizers they’ll be attending the meeting: Will Davis (Liberal); Suzanne de Montigny (Green); Hansen Ginn (People’s Party); Peter Julian (NDP); Neeraj Murarka (Libertarian); Ahmad Passyar (independent); Joseph Theriault (Marxist-Leninist); and Megan Veck (Conservative).
The meeting is taking place in the basement of Mount Zion Church (930 Cumberland St.). Parking is accessed via the lane.

The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce hosted a meeting on Sept. 27, where candidates fielded questions on various topics including climate change, electoral reform, health care and business taxation.
