Planning a day at a local attraction such as Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Surrey takes foresight. The unique new bounce park has so much going on, it can be hard to keep track of it all.

“Trampoline dodgeball is the most fun ever,” says owner Morey Chaplick.

Ultimate dodgeball is not your gym teacher’s game. It happens on a trampoline court, with people bounding away from bouncing balls and having a great time doing it.

The jump park has regular pickup games and also holds Ultimate Dodgeball Tournaments for the truly dedicated.

But dodgeball isn’t the only sport improved by trampolines. Sky Zone also offers Sky Slam, where everyone finally has a chance to dunk a basket while getting some pretty fantastic air. The trampoline launch pads send jumpers flying 10 feet up.

“I’ve got guys who can basically do a 720 and dunk it behind their back,” Chaplick says. “That takes skill, though.”

Trampolines add a whole other aspect to regular fitness, as well, providing a low-impact workout. MMA fighters such as Randy Couture use trampolines in their training for that very reason.

But it’s not just for fighters in the UFC. SkyRobics at Sky Zone combines calisthenics, core exercises and strength-building aerobics for a workout ideal for just about anyone. Plus it burns up to 1,000 calories per hour, making it a highly effective form of exercise.

For those just looking for fun, Sky Zone has that, too. The Foam Zone gives people the chance to experience weightlessness by diving into a pit filled with 10,000 foam blocks. There are also free jump courts where jumpers can practice tricks in the wall-to-wall trampolines and just enjoy bouncing around.

And jumpers who can’t make up their mind are welcome, too. Open Jump gives jumpers the chance to try it all – the free jump courts, Ultimate Dodgeball, Sky Slam, and the Foam Zone.

Jumpers of all ages and abilities are welcome at the facility, so long as they’re willing to follow the rules, Chaplick says.

“There are so few places where you can go having literally no skill and still have a good time!”
