Coquitlam long jumper Jasmine Lew is picking up where she left off her freshman year at the University of Toronto. She recently won her event at the Greg Page Relays at Cornell University and was named the event's top field athlete.

The athletic career of Coquitlam long jumper Jasmine Lew has taken another leap forward.

Lew, who’s currently in her second year at the University of Toronto, recently won her speciality event at the Greg Page Relays at Cornell University in Ithica, N.Y., with a leap of 6.02 metres. She was also named the event’s top field athlete, as well as her school’s athlete of the week.

Lew, a graduate of Heritage Woods secondary school in Port Moody, is coming off an outstanding freshman year at U of T during which she won the Ontario University Athletics championship, placed third at the U Sports championships and was named the OUA’s rookie athlete of the year.

Lew has already qualified for this season’s OUA and U Sports championships.
