Volunteers will lead the last public tree tour of the season at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam on Sunday.

Friday, Oct. 4

FLAMENCO PARTY

LATE NIGHT SKATE

AMAZING RACE
Help the Coquitlam Sunrise Rotary raise money for the Starfish Backpack Program by joining a team in the Amazing Race, based on the TV series. INVASIVE PLANTS
Help the Port Moody Rotarians, Port Moody city staff and volunteers with the Port Moody Ecological Society rip out invasive plants — English ivy, English holly and Himalayan blackberry — at Shoreline Park. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Noons Creek hatchery (behind PoMo recreation complex, 300 Ioco Rd.). Tools, gloves and lunch will be provided for the three-hour pull. SOAP MAKING
Learn how to make soap from scratch using herbs, spices and essential oils at Mackin House (1116 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam). The class, presented by the Coquitlam Heritage Society from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is for participants ages 16 and older. The cost is $48. Visit coquitlamheritage.ca to sign up.

STORMA STROLL
Lace up your shoes for the Stoma Stroll Awareness Walk, starting at noon at the orca eco-sculpture on the west side of Lafarge Lake at Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). ARTIST CALL
Artists and art collectives can find out how to apply for exhibit space — and be an artist-in-residence — in the city of Port Coquitlam, at two sessions held at The Outlet (behind PoCo city hall) in Leigh Square.
