Community members are invited to drop by Christmas at the Crest - and bring donations of nonperishable food items.

Community members are invited to celebrate the season at the second annual Christmas at the Crest event.

Gloria Cooper, mortgage specialist, and Realtors Aruna Khan and Geoff Jarman of Sutton Group – West Coast Realty, have been collaborating with businesses at Crest Plaza and Burnaby Lougheed MLA Katrina Chen, whose office is at the complex, on the event. The free event is on Saturday, Dec. 14 from noon to 3 p.m.

“Our special guest this year will be Mrs. Claus, who has agreed to come all the way from the North Pole to take photos with community members – and pets,” Khan said in an email to the Record. “We simply ask that those vising our North Pole display bring a non-perishable food item to donate. Like last year, we will use all of the food and drink donations to build a physical Tree of Hope – with lights, decorations and all.”

Tax receipts are available for cash donations of $20 or more.

The event will also include two gift basket raffles – one for kids and another for adults.

Crest Plaza is located at 10th Avenue and Langley Street, just across the border in Burnaby.
