The Capilano University soccer teams will play their final home games of the short PacWest season this Saturday before wrapping up regular season play on the road on Sunday.

On Saturday the Vancouver Island University Mariners will be in town, kicking off at Capilano at 1 p.m. for the women’s game and 3:30 p.m. for the men.

Both the Blues men and women are currently siting in third place in their four-team leagues, each having locked up a spot in the three-team provincial championship tournament scheduled for Oct. 25-29 at Langara University. The men have a chance to move into second place as they sit just one point behind Douglas College in the standings heading into the final weekend.

Capilano’s Adrian Sahagun, a third-year forward from Mexico, is tied for the league lead with seven goals in 10 games with the men’s team. The Blues men won the PacWest title last year and went on to finish fourth at the CCAA national championships.
