Dear editor:

Re: PPC Mailer Draws Criticism But is Within Elections Canada Rules, Oct. 18 news story.

We run a disciplined campaign. The mailer my campaign sent is certainly within Elections Canada rules and the comparison chart of the various party policies is accurate in the information provided.

We have Elections Canada information on part of our flyer to give constituents access to voting information. We deliberately put it on there so residents, particularly the silent majority, can easily and directly contact Elections Canada for voter support.

Our design is clean and simple, and the focus is on the content. [Reporter Jeremy] Shepherd is correct in pointing out that the "flyer does not feature a photo of Jadavji or a large PPC logo." People may find that unfamiliar because they expect to see “Vote for Me” flyers, whereas we hold our voters to a higher standard to expect them to vote for policies and principles.

Forty-five thousand flyers were sent to every home in North Vancouver. We presented a factual comparison chart of the major policies of each party.

We left the NDP out to make it easier to read and because they don’t get much traction in middle-class North Vancouver.

We provided a complete guide on how to exercise the democratic right to vote during advance polling.

The flyer was clearly marked as part of my campaign literature “Authorized by the Official Agent of Azmairnin Jadavji.”

We are making an impact.
