The success of any business hinges on the service it provides, which is why the owners of Budget Blinds in Delta make sure their employees are the very best.
The family-run franchise has six employees on staff, in addition to owners Tara and David Anderson.
Each employee brings a different set of skills to the business, but they all focus on the needs of the clients.
“Every single one of us is a face to our customer service,” Tara says. “Everyone’s an important piece of that.”
Budget Blinds’ staff include the consultants who meet with clients to help them choose which window coverings they want, the installation team, and customer service representatives who work with clients, communicating and answering questions throughout the process.
Tara started Budget Blinds in Delta while taking care of her four daughters, and as it grew, her husband David left his job to help with the family business. The business now serves South Surrey and White Rock, as well.
“When we started out, it was just me and David,” Tara explains. “Over the past seven years we’ve really grown.”
The family also owns Delta Closets, and the two businesses do cross-referrals, so clients can choose window décor and get closets organized at the same time.
The focus for both businesses remains on providing the best customer service and connecting with clients and others in the area, according to Tara.
“It’s really important to us to be an active part of the community, regardless of our growth, and to keep it personal,” she says.
Employees live in each of the areas Budget Blinds serve, and understand the needs of those tight-knit communities, according to Anderson.
Budget Blinds is based in Tilbury, in the Delta industrial park. They offer a variety of window coverings including a wide range of blinds, window shades, shutters and drapes. They service Delta, Ladner, Tsawwassen, South Surrey and White Rock.
