Since the COVID-19 crisis began, many businesses have been seeking ways to retooling to support government and public health efforts and to backstop our front line workers.  BC now has a new tool, built by Burnaby-based software company Traction on Demand, to help businesses do just that.

The BC Supply Hub is now open for companies to submit information on what they can produce and supply to the government, and how they can help.
For companies that can donate or supply products from a priority list, including surgical masks, hand sanitizer, wipe, gloves and thermometers, and asked to submit a priority application.  Non-priority items and services can also be shared with the government through the Supply Hub and will be accessed as needed.
To find out more and the make a submission of help, businesses can log on at www.gov.bc.ca/SupplyHubwww.gov.bc.ca/SupplyHub

Help is also being accepted from the federal government, which has its own submission site at https://buyandsell.gc.ca/calling-all-suppliers-help-canada-combat-covid-19.  Through this site, the Government of Canada is accepting submissions from companies that can supply key medical products, but also priority services such as security, laundry, food, and IT services.

The eagerness of our local business community to find ways to pitch in to fight COVID-19 is inspiring, and speaks to the community-minded spirit we’ve always seen amongst Burnaby businesses.
