This year, Evergreen Cultural Centre is joining forces with TD Canada Trust to stage a musical extravaganza for the entire Tri-Cities community.

“As soon as TD saw what we were doing here at Evergreen and the great quality of entertainment that David Mann brings in, they were pretty excited to say yes and give us the major support,” Andrea Jabour, a representative at the cultural centre, said about the new venture.

The partnership is between one of the leading hubs for arts and entertainment in Coquitlam and TD Canada Trust, an institution that is recognized for its investment in the arts. It is a prime example of what Jabour calls “creating some really great community partnerships -” and ones that promote music and culture, at that.

“When you align yourself with somebody who thinks the same way that you do,” Jabour said, “great things happen.”

Among these, are 11 shows including Acapella groups, Canadian composers and world class bands like the Good Lovelies, to name a few. Kicking off the season on Oct. 22 will be the Double Double Duo, an act with two internationally-acclaimed soloists – in the clarinet, piano and accordion – who come together in an unbridled musical coalescence.

Though, these “great things,” as Jabour said it, transcend far past this year’s musical line-up. “It’s not only about the monetary sponsorship that is important to us here, it’s about community-like minded partners helping us disseminate information and bringing everyone together through music.”

In addition to this new venture with TD Canada Trust, the Evergreen Cultural Centre is also enabled to do what they do with the help from other corporate sponsors, including Polygon Homes, Westminster Savings Union and Greenline Dental.

“These partnerships are important to us because, again, it’s all about creating some really good community partnerships, that, when they support us, say ‘you guys are doing some things that we want to be involved with,’” Jabour said. As a great proponent in music, TD Canada Trust is turning out to be a great fit.
