The Crab Shop has been a fixture in the Seymour area since the 1960s, originating on the Dollarton mudflats.

In February 1988, (the first month the Crier was published) a suspicious explosion at the Crab Shop caused $50,000 worth of damage to then-owner Martin Dobay’s (pictured above) seafood processing equipment.

In 2007, the Crab Shop moved to its current location at Dollarton Landing, where patrons can either sit or take away the Crab Shop’s famous fish ‘n’ chips in view of the display of fresh seafood and live crab in tanks.
