Letter: Vagramov leave motion is most urgent

Port Moody Mayor Rob Vagramov returned from leave on Sept. 9.

The Editor,

Thanks to Port Moody Coun. Diana Dilworth for putting item 9.14 on the agenda. I’m deeply concerned about Mayor Rob Vagramov continuing in his role while his sexual assault charge is unresolved. While he’s charged, and if he takes a plea, any votes he takes are tainted.

I support several of the items the mayor wants to move along. Limiting density on the Ioco lands, maintaining Bert Flinn Park as is, retaining the fire hall site are all important to me.

Nothing, though, is so important that the ends justify the means.

Coun. Dilworth's motion would see Mayor Vagramov on leave until his case is resolved, and return only if he’s found innocent. Nothing else on the agenda is so urgent that it should happen before that motion is voted on.
