Several locations along Chilko Drive have been the site of accidents. In this photo, a car drove into a yard backing on to Chilko Drive on Easter Sunday, April 22, destroying a fence, a greenhouse and several large plants. The couple who owns the property is calling for traffic calming measures on the busy thoroughfare and concrete barriers on the boulevard to protect their home.

Has anyone, besides me, noticed that the entry on to Lougheed Highway from Chilko Drive (turning north towards Coquitlam Centre) is an accident waiting to happen?

Vehicles traveling west from Port Coquitlam to go up Chilko are hidden by the vehicles waiting to turn south onto Lougheed Highway.

It seems to me that a system of green light and green arrow (at the same time one way, then same thing the other way) might alleviate the stress of trying to turn left toward Coquitlam Centre while trying to peek around the cars that are waiting to turn south onto the Lougheed — just a proactive thought.
