When Canada announced last year that it was increasing how many new immigrants it would welcome into the country, federal immigration minister Ahmed Hussen noted that “the hunger for workers is huge.”

By 2021, the target will reach 350,000 new arrivals a year.

How do you get to be one of those 350,000?

Canada Immigration Consultants can make the process easier. Not only does it help clients with the myriad of documentation requirements, but it will also advise on how to have the best chance possible to find work and become a permanent resident.

It all starts with prospective immigrants filling out a questionnaire on Canada IC’s website. The answers will be reviewed by one of Canada IC’s licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants who will determine if the applicant meets the criteria for one of several immigration pathways.

Categories include:

• skilled workers aged 18 to 47

• student visas for people 18 to 35

• holiday visas

• working holidays

“Once we see they have all the criteria, we are able to represent them with all the documents, prepare for the English or French exam, help them with evaluating their documents, and also prepare them with a résumé and cover letter that is up to Canadian standards” says COO Rachel Gary.

For student visas, Canada IC can advise applicants on the careers with the highest demand, such as nursing and engineering. Its consultants will connect applicants with the schools that best suit their interests and abilities. Once accepted, Canada IC can walk the student through the process of working while studying.

“Each time you get a visa to Canada you get points; the more points you have, the easier it is to immigrate,” Gary says. “The system is built so that if you study in Canada you will stay in Canada, work and contribute.”

Canada IC can help work applicants with their World Education Services’ international credential evaluation. This compares the applicant’s education with Canadian standards and determines the equivalency. Someone with a B.A. from South Africa, for instance, might have the equivalency of a Master’s degree or diploma. “It all depends on which school you studied at and how many years you studied,” Gary says.

Canada IC also provides clients with a list of human resources companies to help them find a job. It helps clients craft a résumé that gives them a better chance to compete.
