Paws and paintbrushes: Paint with your pooch at this canine-friendly art event next month

Using non-toxic paints, pooches will get ‘paws-on’ with paints

Who let the dogs paint?

PAWcasso invites pooches to bring their human companions for an adult-only evening of outdoor painting for canines and people alike.

Using non-toxic paints, pooches will get ‘paws-on’ with paints, creating ‘puptaclular’ pieces of art along with their owners. After the pooches apply their initial painted-paws, their humans will blend the colours together via brushstroke to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Light snacks are included in the ticket price, and a cash wine bar will serve mimosas, Caesars, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages.

The fun kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the garden at Place des Arts in Coquitlam. However, if it is raining, the event has a rainy-day option in place.

One dog per human is allowed to participate. Further, all dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and leashed at all times during the event. The event also asks that you do not use retractable leashes.
