There’s another weather warning in place for Richmond and much of Metro Vancouver tonight, as a storm bringing a “mix of wintery weather” approaches the south coast.
Environment Canada posted the alert shortly after 5:30 a.m. this morning, warning the Pacific storm will bring a mixture of snow, freezing rain, rain and strong winds to the region starting late this evening.
The storm will continue into Saturday morning.
While the storm will start with snow tonight, it will start to change to rain as warmer air hits the region.
But Environment Canada says it’s hard to predict exactly when the transition to rain will occur.
“There is a chance that this transition could be delayed resulting in higher snowfall amounts,” reads the weather statement.
“It is also possible this transition will include a period of freezing rain.”
However, according to the forecast, most areas of Metro Vancouver will see rain by midday Saturday.
Saturday will also see a high of 5 degrees Celsius, and the warmer weather — and the rain — will continue through next week, with highs of 8 to 9 degrees.
