The annual one-day anonymous sale of art takes place this Saturday, Nov. 2 at South Arm United Church.

More than 100, 10 inch by 10 inch canvases will be on sale – with the artist’s name unknown until afterwards – at the Richmond Artists Guild’s “Guess Who” event, which also raises money for the Richmond Food Bank.

Every single painting is $100 and you have no idea whose painting you’re buying, be it a renowned B.C. artist or an art student from Steveston-London secondary.

Many of the aforementioned artists, including Leo Hu, Chris Charlebois, Larry Tillyer, Dale Bhyre and Tom Taylor, are among those who’ve submitted pieces.

Viewing goes from 9:45 to 10 a.m. and the sale goes to 3 p.m.

New this year is that numbers will be issued to prospective buyers in order of their arrival, before everyone clears the display area.

During the initial rush, buyers will then be let in one at a time, depending on what ticket they hold and will only be allowed to make one purchase.

Once it calms down, organizers said people can enter as they arrive - and buy as many paintings as they wish.

There will be a silent auction at noon, where paintings will be clearly signed for buyers.

Last year, $2,500 was raised for the food bank for a total of more than $13,000 over the six years.
