Richmond’s Steveston neighbourhood proved to be victorious against Burnaby Heights and is another step closer to being Metro Vancouver’s “best” neighbourhood.
The two neighbourhoods in the Fraser River quadrant went head-to-head in the CBC competition until last minute polls closed at midnight on Wednesday.
According to results, Steveston won with 53.27 per cent against Burnaby Heights’ 46.73 per cent of the votes.
While Steveston is known for its cannery and harbour, Burnaby Heights is known for its Italian restaurants and parks.
Next Tuesday, Steveston will be facing the champion of the Northern Quadrant – either Deep Cove or Pitt Meadows – in the Metro Vancouver semifinals.
A total of 192 neighbourhoods in four quadrants have participated in the contest since the beginning of July.
