16 North Shore athletes headed to Pan Am Games

The North Shore will be well represented at the Pan Am Games, sending 16 athletes and two coaches to represent Canada in Lima, Peru.

The North Shore will be well represented at the Pan Am Games, sending 16 athletes and two coaches to represent Canada in Lima, Peru.

The list includes five members of the women’s field hockey team plus one on the men’s team, three baseball players and two standouts on Canada’s talented men’s rugby sevens team.

On Tuesday men’s field hockey player Scott Tupper, a Vancouver native who plays with the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club, was named Canada’s flag bearer for the Opening Ceremony. Tupper will lead a delegation of 477 athletes and 119 coaches into Estadio Nacional del Perú on Friday. The Games run July 26 to Aug. 11.
