Rock Ambleside returns to West Vancouver this weekend, with rockers Honeymoon Suite, Sass Jordan, Quiet Riot, Blue Oyster Cult, and more ready to help you rock your heart out tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. The three-day, 11-band festival is once again being hosted at Ambleside Park and will feature food trucks and drinks, with patrons permitted to bring in their own lawn chairs for the event and come and go to the beach with in-and-out privileges. Day passes range from $60-$70, or $165.50 for the full weekend.

Surefeet, an organization that provides seniors’ balance and mobility training programs, are hosting a community garage sale at Mollie Nye House, 940 Lynn Valley Rd., tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with proceeds earmarked to support treatments and equipment that’ll help stroke patients and those living with Parkinson’s disease. Come out check out and buy some awesome community wares!

Learn about the characteristics of an old-growth forest on a guided tour of West Vancouver’s Old Growth Conservancy tomorrow. Tours meet at Hi-View Lookout on Cypress Bowl Road at 10:00 a.m. before car-pooling to the conservancy. Tours take three hours and sturdy footwear, long pants and a long-sleeve shirt (for brush and bugs) are recommended. Please bring water, a light lunch and optionally a hiking pole for stability. Big Easy Funk Ensemble is bringing their brand of New Orleans funk to North Vancouver as part of the popular Live & Local Lynn Valley concert series tonight. Head to the concert stagelocated at 1277 Lynn Valley Rd. for 7 p.m. to catch the free outdoor gig.
