The council year is winding down but we’ve still got beer brewing, ride hailing and rezoning on the agenda this Monday.

City of North Vancouver

Streetcar Brewing is the latest North Vancouver brewery to ask council for a room to lounge. The brewery, located at 123A East First St. just a stone’s throw from Lonsdale Avenue, is requesting a 26-seat lounge as well as a patio. The patio would shut down at 9 p.m. and the rest of the operation would close by 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

The city is also holding a public hearing on a possible rezoning at 242 West Fourth St. If approved, the rezoning would allow for a pair of three-storey townhome buildings comprising four primary homes and four lock-off units to replace a 50-year-old duplex. Both the City and District of North Vancouver are set to devote a little time Monday to discuss the framework for ride-hailing.

District of North Vancouver

Council is set to hold a semi-formal workshop Monday to discuss any outstanding questions around ride hailing, including what the district should fund with any taxes raised from curb access fees.

Council is also set to discuss privacy in the digital age and other literary issues while planning for the future of the North Vancouver District Public Library through 2023.

West Vancouver council has the night off so why not settle in, show a little love to a little tree, and watch A Charlie Brown Christmas? The sweet, neurotic seasonal special first aired Dec. 9, 1965.
