Emergency crews flash lights and blast sirens in support of health-care workers

By now everyone’s accustomed to people across the North Shore making noise and getting loud in support of front-line health-care workers at 7 p.m. each night, and lately, the show of solidarity has got a bit brighter as well.

By now everyone’s accustomed to people across the North Shore making noise and getting loud in support of front-line health-care workers at 7 p.m. each night, and lately, the show of solidarity has got a bit brighter as well.

Emergency first responders on the North Shore, such as the British Columbia Ambulance Service, North Vancouver RCMP and North Vancouver City Fire Department, have been showing their support this week by flashing their lights and blasting their sirens at 7 p.m. as well.

The action is meant to show their appreciation for the health-care workers on the front line of the COVID-19 crisis at Lions Gate Hospital.

“What an honour to be able to show our support, along with RCMP and BCAS, for our front-line workers at Lions Gate Hospital. Thank you for what you are doing!” tweeted the City of North Vancouver’s fire department last night.
