The North Shore Community Foundation’s 12th annual North Shore Mayor’s Golf Tournament took place at the Seymour Golf and Country Club at the end of May with a full field of 144 golfers showing up under showery conditions to raise money for this year’s main charity, the North Shore Disability Resource Centre, which received $50,000 of the tournament’s $150,000 total raised. The funds will go towards a mobile Snoezelen Room, providing therapeutic services for residents with autism, Alzheimer’s and other conditions that benefit from the multi-sensory technology. Golfers enjoyed a barbecue lunch prior to the shotgun start, with players dispersing around the course in their carts, vying to win hole-in-one and putting contests before finishing their round of golf and enjoying dinner in the club’s dining room.
