Iranian-born and Turkish-raised Nilufar Moayeri’s latest work, Eastern Woman, was unveiled in a special evening presentation at West Vancouver’s Farzin Yadegari Architecture offices on the evening of Friday, Nov. 1. The expansive space, located in the British Properties, showcased a wide variety of works celebrating women from Middle Eastern cultures. Paintings and tapestries framed the theme of empowered Eastern women, inspired by the stories of Mesopotamian goddesses and their hidden powers. Moayeri, who has just opened a studio at 110 East First St. in North Vancouver, will make the 40 pieces in the collection available for viewing by appointment.
