Beach Grove's Aidan Murray was victorious at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour's latest stop in Pitt Meadows.

Adrian Murray has his first win on the Maple Leaf Junior Tour.

The 17-year-old Beach Grove Golf Club junior fired rounds of 71-79 to capture last weekend’s MJT Fall Series at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows.

“My key to victory would be my putting,” commented Murray, who leaned on his ability to scramble and get up-and-down both days. “It feels good to win my division because I battled hard and I did everything I could to hold on to the lead (at the end).”

Players competed for titles in six divisions, all while battling a plethora of weather conditions. The first day brought heavy rain and gusting winds with players scrambling to finish their rounds in the daylight; the second day enjoyed sunshine and heat, making for perfect scoring conditions.

The final junior tour event on the B.C. schedule is the MJT Ford Series at Mayfair Lakes in Richmond, which will take place Oct. 3 to 4.
