The 10th annual RunInn Delta Boundary Bay Cross-Country Meet was held under sunny skies last Thursday at Centennial Beach Park. The event attracted 950 elementary students and raised $1,000 for Delta KidSport.

The RunInn Delta’s 10th annual Boundary Bay Cross-Country Meet brought 950 kids from 15 schools to Centennial Beach Park last Thursday.

"The weather worked out in our favour" said race Director Kevin Ridley. "We had 12 races throughout the day for boys and girls from Grades 2 to 7. We started the meet nine years ago to give local kids a chance to just get out and have a fun cross country race experience followed by a barbecue hosted by the T.O.O.B.S of Delta.”

The meet was sponsored by New Balance, Muscle Memory, Sungod Physio, DNA Data, Servicemaster,  TOOBS, Save On Foods and  the Runinn Delta.

“We are lucky enough to have all these local sponsors which allowed us to pay for the barbecue for all the kids and a chance to to also raise $1000 for Kidsport Delta,” added Ridley. “We can’t thank these sponsors enough for all their time and donations to keep this event going.”

The meet was organized in conjunction with the parents of Sacred Heart and other local volunteers who generously give their time and energy to put on a great local event.
