I have just learned that our local, supposedly community, hospice has now reversed the plan to allow MAiD to be performed there.

After seeing Angelina Ireland in action at the federal all-candidates meeting and reading about this awful situation at the hospice, I will not be supporting its “charity shop” or supporting it in any other way. They seem to have been taken over by extreme right wing thinkers.

Some of us in the community would like to have the opportunity to have our end of life, or our loved ones, be at their choice of timing in our local hospice.

I wish MAiD had been allowed when both my parents died painful, difficult deaths. Many people don’t realize how much pain and suffering some go through if they’ve never been through a difficult death.

I hope Fraser Health stops funding this organization. If it wants to disallow MAID because of its beliefs, religious or otherwise, then it’s not welcoming all members of the community and therefore should not get funding.
