Pickleball courts should be for everyone

I believe that the Delta Pickleball Association was instrumental in advocating for more courts in Delta and for that I thank the association.

Dennison Park has four courts: three are used by the Delta Pickleball Club at prime time leaving only one court for the general public.

If you Google Delta Pickleball Association and scroll down you will find that the schedule is very much in the club’s favor with little court time left for the rest of us who do not wish to join.

I am very disappointed that this proposal was accepted by our Delta Recreation Department. It is very simple: four courts at 45 min. play time per court.

The courts were built with all Delta tax payers and should be shared equally by all.

COVID-19 had nothing to do with this arrangement - most of us have a bubble of four.

I can very well imagine what will happen when the recreation centre reopens for pickleball.

I find it very sad that the Delta Recreational Department accepted their proposal and should be ashamed of themselves.
