A letter-writer had her faith in human nature re-established when her envelope with cash inside was turned in.

Editor:

I was rushing off to church on Sunday as usual and had remembered that I had to pick up my pre-ordered homemade pies from Pat and Matt Rogers afterwards. I had put the cash in an envelope with Pat and Matt’s name and address on it and in my hurried exit from my car at the church I must have dropped it.

I didn’t notice that it was gone until I arrived at the Rogers’ house to get the pies. Luckily, I had another $50 with me so I went in to get the pies. Matt greeted me at the door and said, “Did you lose something?”

I admitted that I had lost the envelope with the cash in it that I had so carefully prepared. Well, with a big smile, he handed me the envelope, cash still inside. Then he proceeded to tell me that a man and woman had shown up at his door with my envelope as they had found it on the ground at the church.

Tony Everett and Linda Robertson, my most heartfelt thanks goes out to you. You have singlehandedly re-established my faith in human nature. I wish there were more people in this world like you.

We are inundated with news about mass murders, hate crimes, evil, cheating and injustice but today your act of kindness made my day and made me want to pass it on (which I will). Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
