Delta police chief’s wife must not receive preferential treatment

Editor:

We watched with extreme disgust and repugnance the behaviour of the Delta police chief's wife, Lorraine Dubord, towards the Richmond teacher who passed by the beach side of her home.

Surely this is exactly the sort of systemic racist attitude that must be addressed in order to start the kind of healing that we need as a society. That it was the wife of the chief of police in the community just, in our minds, makes it all the worse.

We sincerely hope that she will not be given "preferential treatment" because of whom she is married to, and will be charged with assault should the RCMP investigation find that her behaviour merits that.
