Giants open training camp Thursday in Ladner

Action-packed weekend will conclude with Sunday morning's Legends Game at the LLC

Vancouver Giants will conclude their main training camp at the Ladner Leisure Centre with the Legends Cup Game at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Coming off their best season in recent memory, the Vancouver Giants will open their main training camp on Thursday at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

The Western Hockey League 2018-19 finalists will divide players into three groups — Team Kane, Team Gallagher and Team Lucic — for practices and scrmmages. There will also be separate goalie sessions.

Players will be put through off-ice fitness testing on Thursday and also tour South Delta Secondary School where the high school age players will be based. The on-ice sessions start Friday morning and continue right through until 7 p.m. on Saturday. 

The camp concludes with the Legends Cup Game at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Friday, Aug. 23

9 a.m. Goalie Session.

10 a.m. Practice Team Kane.

11:15 a.m. Practice Team Gallagher.

12:30 p.m. Practice Team Lucic

3:30 p.m. Team Kane vs. Team Gallagher

4:45 p.m. Team Kane vs. Team Lucic

6 pm. Team Lucic vs. Team Gallagher

 

Saturday, Aug. 24

9 a.m. Goalie session

10 a.m. Practice Team Lucic

11:15 a.m. Practice Team Kane

12:30 p.m. Practice Team Gallagher

3:30 p.m. Team Lucic vs. Team Kane

4:45 p.m. Team Kane vs. Team Gallagher

6 p.m. Team Gallagher vs. Team Lucic

 

Sunday, Aug. 25

9 a.m. Legends Cup Game
