Delta Gymnastics once again will open its doors to the 10th annual T.A.G. Challenge, formerly Sport Showdown.

This is a fantastic opportunity for groups of friends, community organizations and businesses to discover that play is for all ages. Teams and individuals are invited to come to the gym and participate in this exciting and energetic event taking place on Saturday Oct. 19 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Teams can be made up of corporate, family, sports or other groups that are looking for a fun bonding experience that creates happy and healthy memories. You can grab some friends or register as an individual and we will make a team for you.

T.A.G Challenge, which stands for teams, activities and games is all about being inclusive and having groups come together to celebrate activity.

“We renamed Sport Showdown to T.A.G Challenge in order to embrace a wider audience and promote it as an event for anyone of all athletic abilities,” said Ellyn Schriber, Growth and Development Coordinator for Delta Gymnastics.

Originally called Sport Showdown, the event had various sport teams coming together for friendly competition.

“We wanted to open the event to everyone. Our motto is, the team that plays together, stays together,’” added Schriber.

The theme of this year’s timed challenges is all about Zombie Survival, which will guarantee good times, energy and laughter.

“The stations will include ninja style obstacle courses, building a foam cube tower, a fun dress-up station and other physical activities,” she said.

Participants can select from two categories, each with its own trophy: Power to the People for those who just want to have fun, and Full Throttle for those type “A” people who need a harder challenge and love the spirit of competition.

Any group can put together a team of eight to 12 people of any age or ability level. The cost for a team is $195. For individuals registering separately the cost is $25 per participant. Interested teams or individuals must confirm participation by Oct. 10 by emailing eschriber@deltagymnastics.com or by calling the main office at 604-943-0460.
