All wiener dogs are invited to attend the Western Dachshund Club’s 29th annual Wiener Walk & Picnic this Sunday at Winskill Park in Tsawwassen.

Set to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (registration starts at 10:30 a.m.), the event will include a wiener walk, wiener on a stick race, musical hula hoops, wiener dunking, costume contest and more

Entry fee is $10 for a first dog and $5 for each additional dog.

There will be prizes awarded for every event.

For pet owners, there will be information tables, an auction, 50/50 draw and refreshments for sale.

Organizers ask that no puppies under five months attend. As Winskill is not an off-leash park, all dogs must be on a leash at all times. All dogs must also be current and up to date on their vaccinations and no dog sales are permitted within the park.

The Western Dachshund Club represents breeders and exhibitors in B.C. Every year the club holds an annual Wiener Walk & Picnic, annual conformation specialty show and two earthdog competitions. The club represents all three coat types (long-haired, smooth-haired and wire-haired) and both sizes (standard and miniature) of dachshunds.
