Celebrate Seniors Day with a free pie drive thru at Wexford

Move over McDonalds and Starbucks - The Wexford will be the favourite drive-thru destination in South Delta for at least one day later this week.

Move over McDonalds and Starbucks - The Wexford will be the favourite drive-thru destination in South Delta for at least one day later this week.

The Bria Communities’ retirement home in Tsawwassen is celebrating National Seniors Day on Thursday, Oct. 1 by giving away free pumpkin pies to all seniors. The inaugural pumpkin pie drive thru will be in operation from 10 a.m. until noon.

Seniors only have to drive up to the front entrance where they will be handed a packaged pie without leaving their car.Safety and health precautions are top priority in this event; contact tracing, appropriate PPE and social distancing will ensure seniors and Bria staff are protected.

Bria Communities chefs from all four its seniors residences competed to make the signature BriaCuisine™ pumpkin pie recipe. The winning chef wasLeif Soriano. He, along with the other chefs at the Wexford and Waterford will begin to bake the 100 pies on Monday.

National Seniors Day in Canada coincides with the United Nations' International Day of Older Persons. It celebrates and appreciates seniors' contributions in our homes and communities.
