Each year on the United Nations International Day of Peace, Sept. 21, the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen gathers with community leaders to celebrate peace in our families, our workplace, our schools, and our community.

This year, on Monday Sept. 21, the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen invites you to participate in the celebration of Peace. This event normally takes place at the Peace Pole in the Rotary Square at the Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be going virtual.

The 2020 theme for the International Day of Peace is “Shaping Peace Together.”  We are asked to celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the pandemic and to stand together with the UN against attempts to use the virus to promote discrimination or hatred.

Rotary will also be recognizing an individual, group or organization living in, working with or serving the Tsawwassen community to create a culture of peace by combating racism, violence, discrimination, bullying, corruption or any other issue that creates conflict or disharmony.

Please join Rotary as they give recognition and an award that best reflects the goals of the International Day of Peace at: https://www.rotarytsawwassen.org/.
