Your golf clubs can stay with you for a long time and will likely play a leading role in some of the most satisfying and frustrating moments in your life along the way. Choosing the right clubs is critical no matter what level you play at. And it’s easier than you think.

Here are a few simple tips to help you make the right decision:

1)    Size matters. Just as golfers come in all shapes and sizes, so too do golf clubs. When it’s time to buy that new club or set of clubs, keep an eye out for fitting days with your local golf pro or drop in to your local golf shop to get sized up properly.

2)    Do your research first.  Beach Grove Golf Club Head Professional, Brent Derrheim had this to say: “It comes down to correct shaft flex, lie and length for the golfer. When buying clubs, you have a couple common options, such as a graphite shaft for those with a lighter swing, or a steel shaft for stronger players. It’s good to look up the different options ahead of time. From there, an experienced pro can help you make the right choice.”

3)    Know your game. Deciding what kind of game you want to play is an important part of the decision-making process. Are you looking to smash the ball into oblivion? Or are you more of a finesse player? Whatever your style, it should impact your decision when it comes time to choose the right clubs.

4)    Learn the difference between hybrids and fairway woods. Often confused, they represent two very distinct club choices.

5)    Don’t get overwhelmed. When you start to feel a sense of information overload, it’s time to visit your local pro for some advice.

“At Beach Grove, we utilize the most advanced club-fitting technology on the market from the industry’s leading brands,” says Derrheim. “That way, we can make sure that our customers walk away with clubs that fit their body type and their style of play.”
