Make this the year you actually write that novel. Check out a workshop at Burnaby Public Library this month that will introduce you to National Novel Writing Month.

Calling all writers and wannabe writers.

The Tommy Douglas branch of Burnaby Public Library is hosting a writing workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to help you delve into the world of National Novel Writing Month.

For those who haven’t already heard of National Novel Writing Month – or NaNoWriMo, as it’s more commonly called – it’s November. And, yes, the challenge is to take part and write yourself a novel during the month, on your own time and in your own space.

The presentation will be hosted by local novelist M.J. Kaestli and Dave Levine, the local representative of NaNoWriMo. You can meet fellow writers, get some inspiration and find out more about the writing process and NaNoWriMo. The workshop will include a short writing exercise and time for questions.

So what are you waiting for? Get your writing utensils ready and sign up with an eye on making this your novel-writing November. Register at 604-522-3071 or www.bpl.bc.ca/events.
