Calling all artists.

The Anvil Centre’s Community Art Gallery is calling for exhibition proposals for 2020.

The gallery is accepting proposals from artist teams or arts collectives for its annual exhibition schedule. The opportunity is open to groups of three or more New Westminster artists who live in or have a studio practice in the city and who work in two-dimensional media. Indigenous artists, emerging artists and other artists who have not participated in the past are encouraged to submit proposals.

Exhibitions are two months long, with opportunities for outreach programs such as artist’s talks or workshops during the exhibition period. Anvil Centre will also host an opening/artist reception for each exhibition.

The deadline to submit proposals (which was originally Jan. 23) has been extended until Thursday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m.

Proposals are adjudicated by a peer jury.

Submissions must include names and contact information for all artist (specify a main contact); three to five jpeg or PDF images of the proposed works by each artists; list of artworks identifying artist names, work titles and dimensions; exhibition statement; and a current CV for each artist.

Works need to be ready for exhibition (framed and/or ready to display with appropriate wiring).
