You'll find all kinds of goodies and great merchandise at the Royal City Gogos' annual Artisan Craft Fair, running Nov. 1 to 3 in New Westminster.

Royal City Gogos have come up with a crafty way of raising funds during a global pandemic.

The Royal City Gogos normally hold a giant craft sale each November, but they realize COVID-19 could change those plans for 2020. Anticipating a potential shutdown in November, the Gogos are holding a sale in four venues in Queen’s Park neighbourhood on Saturday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Walk the craft crawl and shop outdoors in a COVID-compliant environment,” said a notice about the event. “Gogos are featuring their usual wide variety of handmade, local, beautiful crafts in nine departments. The garden department is new this year, featuring wind-chimes, birdhouses and feeders, sun-catchers, thrift-store sculptures and succulents. Come early for the best selection.”

Gogos are also selling  an array of sweet and savoury preserves with tasty flavour combinations including fig and rum jam, tequila sunrise and pomegranate marmalade, and pineapple habanero chutney.

While you can start the craft crawl at any house on the route, the Royal City Gogos point out that the house at 117 Fifth Ave. is a good place to start out because their “signature tote” is there for purchase – and can hold items purchased along the way. Here’s where you’ll find the sales.

*117 Fifth Ave. – Royal City Gogos’ signature totes and bags

*333 Third St. – preserves, face masks and Christmas decorations

*127 Queens Ave. –  spa products, fashion accessories, furnishings for the home, toys and treats for pets

123 Queens Ave. – garden items, and toys and treats for kids

“All proceeds are donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign in support of African grandmothers caring for children orphaned by AIDS,” said the notice. “The money will go a long way in Africa to assist grandmothers who are battling two pandemics – AIDS and COVID-19. Your support is much appreciated.”
