If you can’t go out to the gallery, then bring the gallery to you.
100 Braid Street Studios is taking its popular paint-and-sip nights into the virtual realm in response to COVID-19. The virtual paint nights are happening throughout May.
“The arts help people cope in dark times, so during this COVID pandemic we are delighted to be going virtual and bring our paint events to the comfort of your own home,” says a write-up on the studio’s website.
As with the gallery’s in-person sessions, the events are led by professional artists who lead people of various skill levels through the production of a painting – and, at the same time, as the website notes, they teach painting techniques so you can learn and improve your skill over time.
Participants have two ticket choices. It’s $20 if you have the necessary supplies already, and $45 if you’d like to pick up a paint event kit with full supplies.
The gallery offers paint nights at a variety of skill levels, so check ahead to find the level appropriate for you. There are even a couple of Kids and Adults paint nights coming up aimed at artists of all ages.
All you need to take part is a space to work (with no distractions so you’ll be able to keep up with the teacher), and your own drinks and snacks to work with, plus the Zoom app on your digital device.
