New West's Vagabond Players up for community theatre awards

The Vagabond Players earned itself a slew of nominations in this year’s Community Theatre Coalition Awards.

Helen Volkow and Ryan Johnson are both nominated for Community Theatre Coalition Awards for their roles in the Vagabond Players’ Terror by Gaslight in 2019.

The Vagabond Players earned itself a slew of nominations in this year’s Community Theatre Coalition Awards.

The New Westminster theatre company, based at the Bernie Legge Theatre in Queen’s Park, earned multiple nominations for its production of Terror by Gaslight, the company's season-opening production from October 2019.

Ryan Johnson is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, while Helen Volkow is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

Bev Pride earned a nomination for Best Costume Design for the same production, with Alex Ross taking one for Best Lighting Design and Warren Johnson for Best Set Design. Bev Pride and Mary Larsen also took a nomination for Best Set Decoration.

Vagabond Players also earned a couple of nominations for their musical production Once Upon a Fairytale, which ran in November and December 2019.

Stefani Delisimunovic is nominated for Best Performance By an Actress in a Leading Role (Musical), while Lauren Trotzuk is nominated for Best Sound Design.

Anna Ducos earned a nomination for Best Graphic Design for her poster for the company’s Drinking Habits 2.
