Art lovers, be sure to stop by Plaskett Gallery in December for an exhibition celebrating the season.

A Touch of Winter is on at the gallery from Dec. 1 to 22. An opening reception is set for Friday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The exhibition features a variety of works from New West Artists, an inclusive, non-profit society in New West that works to “inspire, encourage and celebrate the visual arts through connection, education and promotion,” as a write-up about the group says.

The group welcomes visual artists of all levels, from emerging or re-emerging talents to veteran professionals. It also operates a gallery at 712 12th St., which also serves as a venue for a variety of workshops and arts events, as well as concerts featuring local musicians.

Find out all about the group at www.newwestartists.com, or stop by the gallery to check out the artists’ work.

The Plaskett Gallery is at Massey Theatre, 735 Eighth Ave. It’s open from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, by appointment and during productions in the theatre.
